I have always loved the aspect of design. When I was little I would design the layout of houses on the sidewalk and road in front of my house in chalk. I would draw dresses and outfits on models of people and I would write stories and describe in great detail the trees and animals. It wasn’t until I was a teen that I found out about graphic design.

Of course I had always known that there were people who made posters and logos but I had never considered doing it myself, it seemed like a skill so foreign and yet exactly what I had always wanted. I remember sitting down with my mother and planning my subjects for the next year. I was homeschooled and because of that I always had a bit of say in the subjects I learned, such as choosing between the history of the United States or the history of the Great Apostasy and Rome. My mom mentioned that I should learn graphic design which I didn’t fully understand. I decided to do it anyway and I am so glad I did. I took an online course where I learned about fonts and colors in design.

It was my first exposure to learning graphic design. After that I kept learning. I finished high school early to do a course on digital design during my senior year. I love graphic design and being able to use my creativity to create something beautiful for the benefit of someone’s project or business that they have poured so much love and time into.
